Moving an OSC Commerce Shop to a New Web Host

Hi Forum world!

We are moving an OSC Commerce website to another web host company. All files have been copied and uploaded, and we made a backup of the database using the admin panel of OS.

We are receiveing errors because we have not uploaded the database. How do we do that? I read someting about going into the cpanel to accomplish this task but all that is in there is the ability to create new databases.

Can anyone please help? This is probaby really easy, but we cannot figure it out :-(

Go to your ISPs admin panel

Find and follow a link to mysql,, then phpmyadmin.

Select the Import option and import the sql file you created on your other server.

Depending on the contents of the file you might need to create a db and a user giving them a password and all privs to the new db.

If there is no db there, you an't do any damage so go explore and learn.

K - I imported the database using myphpadmin. Then I went into MY SQL to see the database - which was there. Then I looked at the users in the database and I saw that the import added a user for me and gave it all the privileges it needed. So I did not change any of the .php files. I am now getting this error:

"Warning: mysql_pconnect() [function.mysql-pconnect]: Access denied for user 'fidohaus_osc1'@'localhost' (using password: YES) in /home/fidohaus/public_html/Connections/fidohaus.php on line 9

Fatal error: Access denied for user 'fidohaus_osc1'@'localhost' (using password: YES) in /home/fidohaus/public_html/Connections/fidohaus.php on line 9"

I did not change or add any passwords.

Tearing my hair out over here!!!!! HELP!!!

Bit difficult to support non osc faults

fidohaus.php

If user fidohaus_osc1 exists try changing localhost to 127.0.0.1
