Templates: How to Install them

Hi there,

After doing a quick google search i found a free oscommerce template.

I downloaded it, and there was no readme file or any instructions on how

to install it.

So is there anyway here who can offer me any help?

The file i downloaded contains the following:

-Fonts (directory)

-OSC (directory)

- Admin

- Download

- Images

- Includes

- Install

- Pub

-PSD

Do i simply copy the contents of the osc file over to the shop, and overwrite originals?

I would appreciate any guidance.

Regards

Ijaz

A quick look at the above shows PSD which is the pic designs for Photoshop and is not necessary for the install.

I would suggest looking in the install directory. Usually there is some hint there, say run index.php ?.

Sorry I've never used a template myself.

Most likely the answer is yes, you copy the files over the original ones, but you then have to be sure that the template is for the same versjon of oscommerce that you have installed. You also have to be sure that you have not changed anything in thies files.

Do a search on the site that you donwloaded the template from. Most serouls sites have some sort of intructions on how to user the template.

Endre

PS: moste templates I have found are based on RC1, and if you just downloaded oscommerce, you mostlikely have RC2
