Credit cards on file

I'd like to find a way to allow a customer to use a credit card they've previously used in the store, but obviously I don't want to actually store their credit card number. Currently I'm using osCommerce with LinkPoint, but I'm open to using something else.

Thanks!

Kat

There used to be piles of companies that offered that service, but they don't seem to be around anymore. I suppose that after PCI rules tightened up again last year and some fines tripled, it was just too risky and most dropped that service. I'm sure they're still out there, though. I remember more than one company used the word "vault" to name that service, so maybe that'll help with your search.

Looks like Authorize.net has a new product called "Customer Information Manager" that will do what you want for an additional $20/month. They store the customer's financial information and you simply charge their cards when you need for as much as you need to.
