UPS Shipping

I dont know why, but 4 out of 10 times my UPS shipping doesnt work. I get: UPS is unavable for a shipping quote, please contact the store owner.....

I sure do, the thing is that it works only about 40% of the time. Thats what I dont understand....

i have the same Problem with the UPS Module:

 

This is currently the only shipping method available to use on this order.

Im sure more people than us have the same problem. I have read every single post in this forum and I still cant fix this problem. Can someone please try and help us?

Your mileage may vary, but try what I posted in this thread. Another sfatula hack, but it does work on my site at least.

I'm having the same error. I tried the hack, and unfortunately....no luck.

Chris, you are saying like the others you are getting the error around 40% of the time, not ALL of the time, right?

And, you are saying for the same identical ship destination, you do not always get the error. i.e., you may have the error for a given ship address, hit refresh, and it sometimes works. Is this correct? Or, is it a case where certain addresses NEVER work?

No, I am getting the error all of the time, and I don't know why. I have reinstalled osC, I have installed all of the newest snapshots, I have configured admin,,,,,,,and I just can't get the damn thing to work.

I don't know if this will help many of you, but my main goal is to make sales, so I used the table rate based on sales price and it works perfectly. It is also very good if you want to give free shipping over a certain dollar volume for a sale. I spent a lot of time looking at the shipping and I think of it from a consumer level Many Internet shoppers are very sensitive to shipping cost and they usually tie it to their purchase price. Anyway, with the table rate you can tie it to your total and you can graduate it based on price. I find it working well for me.

Ok Chris, then that's why my fix did nothing for you, it is for the users who do have UPS working, but, some of small percent of the time, get the error message (this is what some posters are saying). ALL users who have UPS working have the problem as it is a UPS problem, not an OSC problem. You have an installation or modification issue.
