[email protected] Posted December 9, 2002 Posted December 9, 2002 I have an existing product database of 4000+ records. I'll need to do the following: -- Massage the table into an osCOmmerce-friendly structure -- Load the table into the osCommerce "products" table Is there a common procedure to follow to do this? Is it something that I'll have to do at the database level? I figure the osCommerce "power users" don't typically load a few thouisand products by hand...
sw45859 Posted December 9, 2002 Posted December 9, 2002 the closest thing i have seen so far is the excel import but i personally found it a little too confusing, and i have a bit of experience with osc and excel each, you might want to try it and see if you may not find it as confusing as i did.
wasson65 Posted December 9, 2002 Posted December 9, 2002 Hi, Tim Wasson here. I'm partial to EasyPopulate myself, since I maintain it. It's based off the excel import but has been extensively reworked to be much easier to use. It can create multiple levels of categories on the fly as well. Somebody used it to put over 15000 items into their store. The current version is 2.1 and works quite well for english or single language oriented sites, but a 2.2 is coming out in the next week or so, with better support for multiple language sites. Hope this helps you out, Tim
