problems finding images folder

When i go into the admin area, choose Catalog/Products Expected and then choose a product,

i get this error

Error: Catalog images directory does not exist: /catalog/images/

I have narrowed it down to a file called

/catalog/admin/includes/configure.php

and the lines

define('DIR_FS_CATALOG', '/catalog/'); // absolute path required

define('DIR_FS_CATALOG_IMAGES', DIR_FS_CATALOG . 'images/');

i have tried accessing my site in browser @ /catalog/images and there are images there.

The images folder has drwxr-xr-x and all the files under there have -rw-r--r--

One other thing that i was thinking about is that the real path to the images is

/www/catalog/images or

/public_html/catalog/images

I tried prepending the www as well but got the same error.

So i do not understand why this is happening

Any idea?

/Jonny

Could try these, but backup first.

define('DIR_FS_DOCUMENT_ROOT', 'http://www.yourdomain.com); // where your pages are located on the server. if $DOCUMENT_ROOT doesnt suit you, replace with your local path. (eg, /usr/local/apache/htdocs)

define('DIR_WS_ADMIN', 'admin/');

define('DIR_FS_ADMIN', DIR_FS_DOCUMENT_ROOT . DIR_WS_ADMIN);

define('DIR_WS_CATALOG', '');

define('DIR_FS_CATALOG', DIR_FS_DOCUMENT_ROOT . DIR_WS_CATALOG);

define('DIR_WS_IMAGES', 'images/');

define('DIR_WS_ICONS', DIR_WS_IMAGES . 'icons/');

define('DIR_WS_CATALOG_IMAGES', DIR_WS_CATALOG . 'images/');
