I am halfway thru creating my new site using OSC and have come accross a small problem.

I sell a lot of clothing in different sizes. Is there any way to setup my inventory so it can see how much of each size is in stock?

EG:

T-Shirt

Size: S 3 in stock

M 1 in stock

L out of stock

XL 4 in stock

How do i show this without inputting each size as a different product?

Can anyone help me?

Thanks

Craig

You might be able to do it by adding a field to the products_options_values table that holds the stock.

You then will need to rewrite several pages to show / not show and substract that stock...

Let me add my name to this wish list. I've got the same issue. It's kind of silly to display the article for every size you have in order to keep a tally of what's in stock.

Maybe the attributes and inventory should be looked at for a re-write? I'm sure there are lots of us that have run into this issue.

has this issue gone dead?..

I find that people post vague ideas.

How about posting some solutions. Not everyone is a developer.

You seem to be asking a lot considering nobody here get's paid to "post solutions". Asking the way you are won't get you any closer to an answer (in fact it will likely get you absolutely nothing).

I am willing to make a small donation to the person who contributes a package that works correctly.

Funny...that's all i've gotten so far...

I would be willing to make a donation if i could get this to work.....why would i otherwise???

Robert,

Instead of whinging about everything...why dont you try reading the comments properly before opening your mouth.

My previous comment was about a "small donation" of CASH!!! to the developer who can get this to work.

I'm a little upset and i am sorry if my writting reflects that. But I can see that there are lots of good people on here that have solutions to problems. But they choose to ignore or post vague replies.

I am a possible contributer to this software becouse i like what i see. But to date, i have not been able to get a reasonable reply to a simple question. I am not a php/mysql guru.

Maybe we need a "basic" forum and a "advance" forum.

Here are some of my questions.

1. how do you post more than one pic for a product?

2. what is "Products Model:" supposed to mean, under "new product"

3. how do you resize individual images in the catalog/products.

4. how do you referance url's for images instead of local images?

I sure hope you are not referring to my post in this thread. You seem to not understand this is an Open Source project... Just because I am able to paint your house doesn't mean I will. I will tell you which paint will be the best (if I have the time) and I'll advise you on your painting technique.

But if you expect me to come over and actually paint you'll need to offer me something in return... and what you have written below does not qualify:

There are more 'possible contributors' then there are Open Source projects....

'Reasonable replies' are given to all people that ask questions AFTER they've done their research.

People that actually have found the search button and have used it.

People that show they are trying to solve problems by tackling them, not by demanding others to solve them for them.
