AJRYAN
I'm just getting started and have uploaded files to my server, but can't find install.php nor configure.php per the documentation. Also, there does not appear to be an install directory as the documentation would indicate. The files I downloaded from links from this site are: tep_catalog-pr2.1.tar.gz tep_admin-pr2.1.tar.gz I unzipped them on my hard drive and can't find them anywhere. Please help. Thanks
Jan0815
Install files and configure.php are in 2.2-CVS (AKA Snapshot) only. The 2.1 series of osCommerce only use the includes/application_top.php file for cinfiguration. It is done manually by editing this file. It is explained in the INSTALL file. If you want to use the installer you need a snapshot version of osCommerce. HTH You can't have everything. AJRYAN
So I guess I need to install the new snapshot on top of the old version - is this correct? I was under the impression that 2.2 was not considered a stable release so I originally did not download it, though I have it now. Also, considering that the documentation appears to have been written some time ago, why hasn't anyone updated it? Anyways, thanks for your help. Jan0815
So I guess I need to install the new snapshot on top of the old version - is this correct? You can install a snapshot from scratch. You can safely delete the old version if you didn't add valuable data. Also, considering that the documentation appears to have been written some time ago, why hasn't anyone updated it? Because we didn't have enough time? Because we will provide full documentation as soon as 2.2 is finished? And there is www.oscdox.com - they are doing it quite good ;-) You can't have everything.
