Ajeh Posted December 8, 2002 Posted December 8, 2002 Unfortunately ... I write a lot of msgs if no one noticed. :D I had written up a detailed how to manually install v2.2 without running the installation. I can write it all up again, but I'd really like to find my original post. Problem is ... I have a zillion to search through. The keywords are so common that it is not helping me either. I wrote it about a month ago. Did anyone happen to remember where? If someone trips over it, I'd love the URL for it. Thanks!
mblond Posted December 11, 2002 Posted December 11, 2002 Not sure if I am posting this link correctly but I stumbled on it as I was looking for a solution: I rembered a discussion about binary upload so recreated the serarch with that in mind. http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/viewtopic.php...ighlight=binary BTW: Perhaps you can answer a question for me ... when "My Account" is clicked (Not logged in) it is supposed to redirect to the login page, right ? Sometimes this redirect does not work and I get "The page cannot be displayed", and an indication that the server cannot be found. If I hit refresh several times, usually 4 or 5, it will then appear, but the url is showing "account.php" not "login.hp" .... any ideas? Thank you, Michael
rubygirl Posted December 12, 2002 Posted December 12, 2002 is this the one you were talking about?? http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/viewtopic.php...ht=install+v2+2
Ajeh Posted December 12, 2002 Author Posted December 12, 2002 You guys are great ... I could not find the dang thing. I appreciate your help greatly. :D
Ajeh Posted December 12, 2002 Author Posted December 12, 2002 BTW: Perhaps you can answer a question for me ... when "My Account" is clicked (Not logged in) it is supposed to redirect to the login page, right ? Correct. Anytime you are not logged in and click a secure link ... My Account, Checkout, Product Notification, etc. you will first get the login.php page. Sometimes this redirect does not work and I get "The page cannot be displayed", and an indication that the server cannot be found. If I hit refresh several times, usually 4 or 5, it will then appear, but the url is showing "account.php" not "login.hp" .... any ideas? Kind of sounds like a problem with your server. Next time, try hitting the Back Button then click the link again and see if you get the same error. If you do, hit something else, then try clicking My Account or another secure link and see what happens. Technically it should either work or it don't. Changing its mind should not be an option.
mblond Posted December 12, 2002 Posted December 12, 2002 Kind of sounds like a problem with your server. I was affraid thats what it might be. I have my own server (running apache) and have been trying to track this problem down -- couldn't find anything wrong in the configuration files. SSL was working correctly with a perl based e-commerce. Next time, try hitting the Back Button then click the link again and see if you get the same error. If you do, hit something else, then try clicking My Account or another secure link and see what happens. Tried what you suggested same problem. Strange, there appears to be no problem when creating a new account or logging in. The problem only seems to exist when "New Account" or "Checkout" is clicked. An additional bit of info that I just noticed ... when this problem occurs the footer is not showing up. One more related challenge :) When an order has been placed and an email is sent to the customer. The link which goes to account_history_info.php will also give the same error until refreshed several times. Technically it should either work or it don't. Changing its mind should not be an option. At first it seemed to be an intermittent problem -- Now I assume that since the footer is not loading correctly when this error occurs that perhaps the two are somehow related ? Not sure where to go next with this one :( Thanks for the help. Michael
