smileeman2002
Please be patient with me. This is my first Ecommerce Site, and I have a client breathing down my neck. Okay So I set up the Payment Module and it is active. I downloaded my API code file: cert_key_pem.txt from Paypal. Questions: 1. Where do I upload the code? Into which directory? 2. What are the next steps after I upload the file? Pretty much I am looking for a step by step tutorial on how to make Paypal work in OsCommerce. Thanks

So you have a website using the standard oscommerce software? If so, have you done any add-on contributions so far?

Yes standard. I have not added anything. Very basic. The client does not want any frills. Just wants it to work.

OK go to the following and download the contribution if you have not already done so and post back that it is done and you can open the files: http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/5659

allaboutwicker
Thanks, I have downloaded the files and can open them. Great! Using an uploading software like smartftp upload the following files to their appropriate locations: • includes/languages/english/modules/payment/paypal_direct.php • includes/modules/payment/paypal_direct.php If you are not sure of what I just said to do, please post back for a more thorough explanation. I got it. I'm pretty much good with HTML so this part is easy. DO I have to keep the folder called "catalog?" I changed the main folder to "store"
allaboutwicker
Good. Now go into the admin part of the website. Go to Modules -> Payment. You should see the paypal module there. Just pick it and install. I have not actually installed this particular Paypal contrib, but one similar. I have done a quick read thru of the install directions from this one though and it is the same. So go ahead and click install and see what happens! allaboutwicker
Sorry I did not see the last part of your message about changing the folder name. I don't think I have done that one yet, but I think it is OK. You will know by going to the website and refreshing it after making any code changes to see what effect they have on it! smileeman2002
The install works. I have all the info but it asks me for API Signature The signature to use for the PayPal API service. Paypal didn't give me one. I may have to ask them for it. I guess I am using Sandbox because I must test first correct? Also what should I choose for: cURL Program Location The location to the cURL program application.

You should probably open up the adobe install file yourself and see if you can get some answers there. If not try doing a search in the forums or I have also gotten lots of answers to my oscommerce questions from google searches as well. You can always post here again, but I think someone else will have to help you from here because that is as far as I can take you. Sorry. I helped as much as I could. Best Regards! Thanks you were a great help. I was clueless and know I know much more. Thanks again. I contacted Paypal and hopefully they can tell me what the API Signature is and how to do a test transaction.
