Search by Manufacture - broken

I have no idea why or what to look for to fix it.

I just noticed that my "Search by Manufactures" box no longer defaults to the first entry - "Please Select". Instead it defaults to the last entry listed. :huh:

Any help as to how to fix it would be greatly appreciated. :(

I have spotted the problem, don't know why it happened, but I can't find where this info/code can be altered.

Any ideas?

<td class="boxText"><form name="manufacturers" action="http://handeshobbies.com/catalog/index.php" method="get"><select name="manufacturers_id" onChange="this.form.submit();" size="1" style="width: 100%"><option value="">Please Select</option><option value="6">AMT</option><option value="12">Badger</option><option value="8">Italeri</option><option value="11">Iwata</option><option value="5">Lindberg</option><option value="10">Model Master</option><option value="4">Revell/Monogram</option><option value="1">Tamiya</option><option value="7" SELECTED>Testors</option></select></form></td>

Somehow the option value SELECTED needs to be brought back up to Please Select. What it's doing way down there now is beyond me. What controls and sets the values in the manufacturers search?

Not sure if it is a related issue, but I just tried changing in the Admin Panel -

Manufacturers List / Value = 12

Manufacturers Select Size / Value = 10

I only have 9 manufacturers so it should have changed the drop-down box to a list, but nothing, no change.

I tried searching for a resolve but it seems similar problems have gone unanswered.

I'm not the first with this problem but how does one fix it? Delete the search box? I hope not!

:o
