Clothing Store issue with products, categories and model #'s

First off, I must say OSc is pretty damn sweet to all you guys that have developed and added contribs to it.

 

My question is in the way the categories and products work for a clothing store. Here is my idea (category names are made up :)

 

Category--> product

 

t-shirts ----> nike_tee

 

now with a nike tee there are 3 sizes (m, l, xl) and say 3 colors (red, black,.white)

 

The way I figure it would work (but not really very nice/pro)

Category--->Sub-Catagory---->Product



t-shirts------>nike_tee---------->nike_tee_m_red

                                nike_tee_l_red

                                nike_tee_xl_red

                                nike tee_m_black

                                etc........

what I would like to do is give the product (nike_tee) the above attributes and when you choose the appropriate attributes combo box it would append the size and color to the model#

 

so you would choose the nike_tee product, choose white color and xl and then osC would add that particular item to your cart . Instead of you finding the nike_tee that is white and xl.

Hey, Why don't you make it like :

 

Category->Sub-Catagory ->sub categories ->Product-> Attributes

 

t-shirts------>nike_tee-------> sizes (xl, l, m)-->nike_tee_xl--->red

White

Black
