pepe
Hi all. I'm trying to make OSC, at least for now, as a catalog only site. I don't want the clientes to buy online I just want to be able to show the products and to update the catalog from a tab-delimited file on a quick way. So in order to transform OSC on a non-selling page what should i do? I've been checking on "free - call for price" but i don't think it's the best way, since i want to do that on a system wide basis not only in a few products. Thank you for your time Pepe Why is it called tourist season if we can't shoot at them?

Guest
Our list of clients using osCommerce is growing fast. An on-line catalog is one of the things two new ones have requested so I'm working on disabling the checkout feature and documenting the procedure this week. I'll post when I'm done, probably Tues afternoon.
pepe
:D Thank you! I'll be waiting then. This is the first time that I'm trying to do a job using OSC. I'ts not easy to be a newbie ;) but i'm convincing myself more and more that ESC has a lot of potencial. Once again thank you for your help. pepe
Hi again. Micah, by any change were you able to finish documenting the adaptation? Thank you. Pepe Why is it called tourist season if we can't shoot at them?
tobz
It should be pretty simple - just comment out or delete the parts that refer to checkout/my account/shopping basket etc. I did this a while ago using the comment out method and it took about five minutes. I think my current client is going to go for a catalog type site initially but with the option to have online ordering added later so I will be doing this again at some point in the next few months. I'll post the method then if you still need it. tobz osCommerce Links osCommerce Templates osCommerce UK <-- This site is for sale!
pepe
You are right! OSC is so well written that even for a really newbie, like myself, it's easy to comment the parts of the code that i don't wan't to use. Thanks.
