Thank you for your solution. I am having this problem as well. I'm not that familiar with the oscommerce store. I set it up a while back and just let it run. Now I'm having this issue and cannot find the php.ini file. Can you tell me in what folders this is located?

Hi

I am a godaddy customer too and I had the same problem. Fixed it by using php5.ini

However, now my admin login page loads and after adding the username/password, it redirects me again to login.php without any error.

I have checked that my userid/pwd is correct. I have the same store running on another host and am moving to godaddy. where the $_post variable is getting lost, as $submit is empty on login.

Has anyone faced this problem before? Help please

Note: I have multistore contribution added

It's the price you pay for hosting with godaddy. They do a number of things that are non-standard so you will probably encounter other problems. Some are answered here - some aren't. If you can find work-arounds for those, then there's no problem though.

I just wonder why someone based in the UK hosts their website on servers based in the USA - a real killer as far as Search Engine results are concerned.

just have a look at the cost of hosting your site in the UK and then look at the price of a USA?

also GBP to USD is good for us in the UK (20.00 USD = about 10.00 GBP)!!!!!!!

would you not use UK host if (20.00GBP = 10.00 USD)

Well obviously you are reselling hosting for a company with USA based servers, or you wouldn't be advocating such a stupid move for uk based companies..

For people whose business is located in the UK, and whose main customer base is in the UK, having their website hosted on USA based servers is a killer for search engine results.

Scenario 1: .com domain, uk company, mainly uk customers, usa based servers - good search results on google.com, zilch on google.co.uk

Scenario 2: .uk domain, uk company, mainly uk customers, usa based servers - minimal search results on google.com, minimal on google.co.uk

Scenario 3: uk or .com domain, uk company, mainly uk customers, uk based servers - minimal results on google.com but best results on google.co.uk (which is where the uk business needs to be listed).

What you advocate may be superficially cheap but works out very expensive if a person is trying to run a serious business.

OK yes your above is right but client and customers I have found from the 5 -6 eshop I run also only use google.com and most do not now of googl.co.uk as F/Fox, IE ect.. get home pages set to .com as most are from the US and most UK users do not now how to set home pages.

the END..

Hi guys, I have the same problem and I did everything what it needs I changed the file name php.ini to php5.ini and still I'm having the this message on the user and admin sides :

Server Requirement Error: register_globals is disabled in your PHP configuration. This can be enabled in your php.ini configuration file or in the .htaccess file in your catalog directory

- I really don't know what to do now ? but I have a question here, where should I put the ini file only in the include file and admin file or in every single folder within the osCommerce directory !?

It generally needs to go in each directory where a script is ran so the root and admin to start. It won't hurt to put it in others if you are not sure though.
