Added a new product but displays in two areas ?

Hello there I'm currently having problems with my web site. The problem I'm having is that when I go to add a new product it lists in two areas on e where the item should be and another where it should not be.

For example we sell sewing machines I have added just as a test to show you the problem a sewing machine named Janome Test 1 I added this to my categories Janome/Sewing Machines/Janome Test 1 The problem is it is also then displaying this machine in another area where that product should not be which is in Elna/Elna Sewing Machines/Janome Test 1 as that product has nothing to do with that area.

I also get the same problem in all other areas the smae where ever I add a new product it lists it in another area where it should not be. Is anyone able to tell me what the problem is please or what I need to do or change to get this working and back to normal please I would really appreciate it.

Janome/Janome Sewing Machines/Janome Test 1-------- where it is correct

Elna/Elna Sewing Machines/Janome Test 1----------- where it should not be

Thank You Very Much

Regards

Ian

How are you adding new products? Via admin area or other method?

Have you installed any category handling contributions?

The relationship is stored in the mysql table product_to_category
