no email from contact form, safe mode problem?

I just moved oscommerce to a new server, two different installations and

no email is being sent from the contact form. All other email works. Email confirmation is being sent when an order is made, sent to customer and other address. Also I can email the customers from the admin, so it seems that send mail is working. Safe mode is on and I am trying to turn it off, but the .htaccess file does not seem to be working. I am on a shared server.

 

Does anyone have any ideas. This occurs on two installations of oscommerce, one is old, one is the latest snapshot. It must be a server config.

 

Also, what is the deal with safe mode, what problems occure with oscommerce when safe mode is on?

This happened to me at first when I altered what the message was in the email.

 

Have you altered the email message in any way?

You can't turn off safe mode in .htaccess.

 

Anyway, I think this shouldn't have any impact on mail.
