Add attributes to all products?

I'm working on setting up a site which will allow people to buy photographs that I have taken.

 

I'd like to add attributes (namely types of frames for the pictures) to all products in a certain category (or all categories) without having to manually go through all of the products individually.

 

Can this be done easily?
