ArneE Posted December 5, 2002 Posted December 5, 2002 Hello, I have got a lot of articles in our shop system. The system works very well but "Quick Search" and "Advanced Search" don't work. That means that they don't find any article although suitable articles are in the database. Where is the mistake? Much greatings from Germany, Arne Buchwald
mattice Posted December 5, 2002 Posted December 5, 2002 the search is language specific, that might be it...? "Politics is the art of preventing people from taking part in affairs which properly concern them"
ArneE Posted December 5, 2002 Author Posted December 5, 2002 Hello, there's no difference if I choose English or German + Search word ....
ArneE Posted December 8, 2002 Author Posted December 8, 2002 Doesn't anybody knows anything about this ??
crawford Posted December 8, 2002 Posted December 8, 2002 Are your products in categories? The search function checks the products_to_categories table and won't return any results if they are not categorized. Just a thought.
ArneE Posted December 8, 2002 Author Posted December 8, 2002 Thanks for your answer. I'll check it. Greatings from Germany, Arne Buchwald
ArneE Posted December 8, 2002 Author Posted December 8, 2002 The products_to_categories table contains all products AND their categories ....
crawford Posted December 8, 2002 Posted December 8, 2002 Well, worth a try. Is there a url where it can be looked at?
ArneE Posted December 9, 2002 Author Posted December 9, 2002 There's the shop: http://www.dbrahden.de/default.php We don't have published it yet.
crawford Posted December 9, 2002 Posted December 9, 2002 Did you do any modifications of the search function or the advanced_search.php and/or advanced_search_result.php files? I tried it out and it doesn't find anything, even a search for a letter like 'a' gets nothing.
ArneE Posted December 9, 2002 Author Posted December 9, 2002 No, I didn't change anything; only the style-tags in /includes/application_top.php Nothing else.
Guest Posted December 9, 2002 Posted December 9, 2002 Log into your Catalog Admin and click on Configuration check your Default Search Operator if it has and as default then change it to or let us know if this helps any! Pete
ArneE Posted December 9, 2002 Author Posted December 9, 2002 Sorry, but I don't have an option like you've described ...
Guest Posted December 9, 2002 Posted December 9, 2002 Inside your Configuration click on My Store let us know if you find it
Guest Posted December 9, 2002 Posted December 9, 2002 When you click on My Store in Configuration the Default Search Operator should be among the items to edit Pete
Guest Posted December 9, 2002 Posted December 9, 2002 what version do you have installed? almost ever one in here has 2.2 installed now! looks like a few options are missing from yours....
ArneE Posted December 9, 2002 Author Posted December 9, 2002 Sorry, but there's only what you can see on the second picture - nothing else ..... :(
ArneE Posted December 9, 2002 Author Posted December 9, 2002 I think I've to update the version. Now it's: Running on The Exchange Project Preview Release 2.1
