Help! Alexa spidering checkout. Possible?

Please help me out here.

 

I was checking who is online, and saw someone in checkout_success.php. It was strange, because I was not receiving any order. After checking the IP (209.237.238.164) which resolved to crawl14-public.alexa.com .

 

How is that possible? Is this a security issue? I thought that spiders could perform any actions. Google is spidering my site for already a few days and has never entered any of these pages.

It is not a security problem, but it's quite unnecessary.

 

You could add a robots.txt file a the root of your site to exclude checkout pages.

Does that mean that it also does not causes a problem when it does spider these pages?

 

I will definitely look into adding the robots.txt file.

I don't think it can cause any trouble. The spider would need a password to go any further.

 

Nothing will get bought. Shopping carts will not be recorded either. The spider is there as a guest.
