customer order notification for admin

When customer place orders in my store, can I be notified via email that new orders are in my database and need to be processed? When we get an order for our wine, we cannot run the credit card online. Our inventory changes quickly, and we like to personally contact our customers.

 

So can osCommerce notify me when there are orders in the admin?

But how is it done? from where can we enable this option as i have installed the package and i do not receive any notifications

Its automatic, when someone purchases from your store an email is automatically sent to you with the order details. You only get them when an order has been made. If you are not receiving the notification then either you have no orders or there may be something wrong with the email function in your store. Make sure all your configuration settings in admin are filled out correctly and under My Store are filled out correctly. (Send extra order emails to: your email address)
