I guess my cart is quite older and I don't know how to upgrade it without having to take it down, it will be live soon and I think I may have setup a really old version, does anyone know how I can upgrade or any direction would be greatly appreciated, Thank you so much for your time and consideration.

Collecting cc info online and processing it offline you will in be in violation of the PCI regulations, inbreach of your merchant account tos and be liable to loose your merchant account and face stiff fines.

 

You should get a online payment gateway which process the transactions in realtime in accordance with PCI regulations.

 

There are many alternatives with osCommerce modules available. for instance: authorize.net and linkpoint

Thank you for your quick response and I understand what your saying I'm not looking to be in violation of anything, I do have paypal website pro but when I install it all seems fine but it hangs for too long when I click on confirm order, I don't know why, do you know if it's possible to pay with paypal without having to create an account with paypal? I mean just using your credit card on paypal, from what I've seen it requires you to creat an account with them, I'm sorry I'm rambling on, anyway thank you for your time and consideration in answering my post, Have a great Holiday! to you and your family

Website Payment pro will allow you to process CC on the site without customers having a paypal account, indeed they don't even see that paypal is completing the transaction.

 

The payment process seems to take anythink from 10 - 40 seconds to process on my site but it is still under test with the sandbox account at the moment.

You also need to make sure that the max script time in the php.ini file is at 60 sec otherwise you will end up with HTTP 500 when Paypal takes over30 seconds to process the transaction.
