computaplanet Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 hi, I went to upload new category images this morning and found that my images wasnt writeable... I changed the permissions to 777 and thought that was fine... i uploaded an image and although the admin panel said image uploaded it didnt show, so i went into the front end and saw that all of my images were not showing (even though they are on the server in the correct folder!) I have tried deleting the images off the server and reuploading them but still they are not showing. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance
CIAWoman Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 You need to upload them on Binary not ASCII. Try that. I'm not in anyway a spy, but if I were, I'd be Cute In Anything.

(sorry I am a bit of a noob) Here's the link to filezilla if you what to go in that direction..... http://filezilla-project.org/ If you use the unlimited ftp account on your cpanel look at the bottom of the page and you'll see ASCII and BINARY........ check binary. Did you install / change anything? I havent done anything new since the last time the images were working, I did pay a guy to install a new mod last week but the images were working for days afterwards until i looked again this morning although my host transfered the site to a new server last night, but they are insistant that it is just a coincidence and that this has nothing to do with them as all they did was a transfer files and settings protocol? Thanks for the filezilla ftp program will have a look at that now...

Guest Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 i forgot to ask am i looking for in the configure.php? Well, I would be looking at absolute paths that could have have changed, database server changes to start. Did the webhost switch to a new server that had the same version of php and mysql?

Did the webhost switch to a new server that had the same version of php and mysql? the paths are all as they should be... at least they look ok anyway... the studentwebhosting said that everything is as it was on teh old server, they have only had hardware changes. I will get back on to them now and see what they have to say for themselves!! thanks for your help

Depending on the sort of hardware changes, it may be that something was not copied correctly when it should have been. Be gentle with them.
