This is my first e-commerce web site. I am hosted thru Ipower.com. I have created a web site with SiteDeluxe which has a "browse our selection". This may be a dumb question, but,

How do I get that page to display my OScommerce catalog?

Without a link to actually see what's happening, I'd say you make the "Browse our Selection" point to:

http://www.your_site.com/catalog/index.php

If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you.

I am using SiteDelux and their support is less than admirable.

Right now when I click the link on the navigation bar "Browse Our Selection" it points to www.usedsocksworld.com/catalog

The only way I think to change the link is to change web page file name from catalog.html to something else. I can't make it catalog/index.php as the site editor will not allow me to remove the .html.

Please bear with me while I learn :-)

All you need to do is get the link to point to the folder you have the store installed in.

It doesn't have to have the index.php in the link.

BTW - when I put that URL in my browser, it says "page not found" - http://www.usedsocksworld.com/catalog/index.php

So where did you install the store at?

If you installed it in the root (i.e. - http://www.usedsocksworld.com/index.php ), you have problems again:

The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it

from fulfilling the request.

The script had an error or it did not produce any output.

If there was an error, you should be able to see it in the error log.

Actually I did not install OSCommerce myself - support at IPower.com did it for me last night as I was having the same Internal Server Error. Now that error is back without me doing anything different.

I have no idea where the store is installed. I was able to access my OScommerce Admin page via www.usedsocksworld.com/admin until a few minutes ago.

Any suggestions on what I look for in my file manager?

I am ready to tear down and try another hosting service - I've only gotten as far as creating the basic web site.

If that's your Admin, then the store is in the root (the link I posted).

I tried several pages, login.php, account.php, etc, and they all get the same error.

Frankly, I haven't a clue what to tell you at this point.

I am on hold AGAIN with my host so they can fix this internal server error - the same one I had last night.

Can anyone recommend a good Host? I seem to have nothing but trouble with this one when I set up a new account and their hold times for support are For-Ev-Er!

I've had very good experience with Lowesthosting.com and IX Web Hosting.
