Allow customer to enter product price?

Hello,

 

I have a need to add a "miscellaneous" product to a webstore in which the customer has the ability to type in the price. I can of course make "price" a text input field, but is it then possible to make this entry accepted as the product price and have the customer's credit charged for this amount?

 

It is similar to a gift certificate, but I think all the gift certificates allow the customer to choose an amount from a drop-down list, right?

 

Wondering if anyone knows of a contrib that would help or if anyone can point me in the right direction . . .
