Orders not appearing

Hi, Luckily I asked my mate to buy a test product on my site just to check things and I noticed that my customers receive a invoice and everything but all I received is a PayPal payment notification. So I thought it must be in the admin.

 

I went to admin Panel-> Customers -> Order, It still says there are no orders received and when I got my mate to login it said that he had no orders paid for.

 

Please help.

To me it sounds like you have the standard Paypal module, you want the Paypal IPN payment module which can be found at the link below.

What is PayPal IPN? Or what makes it different so that i should use it?

 

Will this prevent the situations where someone currently gets as far paying by PayPal then forgets to press the "Return To Site" button? This seems to be happening to me, I get an e-mail off PayPal saying I have money, but no order from the shop to say what the money is for.

IPN is instant payment notification - it should return to your shop automatically.

 

As a safe uard, have a look at the pending order email addon. When someone gets to the checkout confirmaton page, you get an email of what was ordered and by who.
