reformedman Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 Wow! there are a lot of threads on this forum board about ssl. I went through quite a few with different search criteria but I can't find anything about placing the geotrust html code on the oscommerce page. I tried different ways and can't find a way to display it. It shows up invisible. It takes up space because I can highlight the area with my mouse but the image just doesn't show. SSL is working very well for my site so I know it's installed correctly but it just doesnt show up. I tried it within a table of <td>the code</td> alongside other td's across the table (trust me I know html language, I did it correct lol :)). I tried before the body tag and after even though it shouldnt work after it since it becomes php after the body tag. I tried in footer.php I tried in index.php. So basically, the question is, where and in what pages can I place the code. What are a few options in case there are a few. thanks man of a reformed faith.
germ Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 It's just an image, so you can put it anywhere you want. Decide where you want it, and I'll help with the coding if you want. If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you. reformedman Posted December 14, 2007 Author Posted December 14, 2007 It's not just an image, it's a linked image which gets updated with a validation date stamp underneath. example I would like it to the left of my creditcard images at the footer of my page. I would appreciate your help germ, you've been a great help in this board for quite a while and would appreciate your help. my site man of a reformed faith.

germ Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 Looks like you've done it about right to me. Let's give this a try. Change this code: <script LANGUAGE="JavaScript" TYPE="text/javascript" SRC="//smarticon.geotrust.com/si.js"></SCRIPT> to this: <script src="//smarticon.geotrust.com/si.js" language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript"></script> If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you. reformedman Posted December 14, 2007 Author Posted December 14, 2007 I clicked on the invisible area and it is telling me that Website identity NOT confirmed Site Security Confirmed The following GeoTrust SSL certificate has been issued for secure communications man of a reformed faith.
germ Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 Well, if you click it, in the box that pops up, you'll see this: Website identity NOT confirmed I think that is the root of your problem. I think they have it coded to be"invisible" when the identity isn't confirmed. Do they have some sort of "support" you can contact for problem resolution? If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you. germ Posted December 15, 2007 Posted December 15, 2007 I found this in their knowledge base of problems: Error-"Identity Not Confirmed" If you have a standard QuickSSL certificate instead of a QuickSSL Premium certificate, and use our True Site Smart Seal javascript, then users will see a popup warning "Identity Not Confirmed". To see which site seal is available for your particular product, click on the following link: https://www.geotrust.com/web_security/ssl-site-seals.htm I don't know if that applies in your case or not...
