How to create database

Hi,

 

Please let me know in detail of following steps how to--

 

1. Create a blank database via your web hosting control panel.

 

2.If you want your shop to be available at http://www.yourdomain.com/catalog then upload the whole of the catalog folder to the root directory of your website via FTP. If you want the site to be available at http://www.yourdomain.com then just upload all of the contents of the catalog folder, but not the folder itself.

 

& what does it mean http://www.yourdomain.com/ & how to upload the whole of the catalog folder to the root directory of your website via FTP.

Unless you own your own dedicated server you cannot create a blank database in phpMyAdmin - you must create the blank database in the Hosting Control Panel provided by your web hosting company.

 

If you do not know how to use FTP then you need to install an FTP programme on your computer e.g. FileZilla (free) or Fire FTP for the Firefox browser (also free), or WS FTP (the best but paid after a free 30 day trial period).

 

Once you have learned how to use FTP then the rest will become clear to you.
