kayotics Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 I set up our shop to let customers buy on paypal. The only problem i've noticed is that i will get an email from paypal about the received funds but no order from the shop telling me what has been sold. So I then have to to email the customer from the paypal email. I tried ordering myself and it seems that when after paying on paypal i click return to store... then it sent me the order from the shop as it seems to know that when i click return to shop from paypal and come back to the shop it knows the order has been complete and knows to send off the email. I cant force every customer to do this so i'm wondering what other options there are? Does anyone know a way around this or have a similar problem with paypal? Any help would be awesome.
Guest Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 To me it sounds like you have the standard Paypal module, you want the Paypal IPN payment module which can be found at the link below. http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,2679

jowest Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 Hi I am having the same problem, I have looked at the link given in the previous reply but I am not very program minded or just stupid! Now what do I do please. Joanne
♥geoffreywalton Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 Click on the link given by Richard, download the contribution. Unzip it if required, and at that stage decide you need someone to install it for you. Otherwise find the installation instructions in the unzipped files and follow them. jowest Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 So have to remove my old paypal installation and upload all the files to file manager? I need to mae changes to the languages file but what changes are these? I then install the new paypal file in Admin>modules and configure its parameters, does that mean set it up again with my paypal address etc. I am worried that I will make the program go wrong so if I needed to ask someone, who do I ask and how much? JO
Guest Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 Download the package, unzip it Once unzipped you should have a folder named "osCommerce_PayPal_IPN_v2.3.3" Open that folder You should now see 3 folders and 3 files the ONLY one you want to be look at is the folder named "catalog" Open up your FTP program so you can upload the folders inside "catalog" Once you have uploaded these files go into your admin and click on modules and then click on "Credit/Debit Card (via PayPal)" and then click install. You will now need to set it up with your email address etc. Once you have done this you should install your old Paypal payment module. If you need any help just send me an email.
satish Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 install IPN. activate IPN in paypal profile. Thats it. Satish Ask/Skype for Free osCommerce value addon/SEO suggestion tips for your site. Check My About US For who am I and what My company does.
♥geoffreywalton Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 The install guide which is in the zip file is full of usefull info. This module should appear in the admin area as Debit/Credit Card (using paypal). You might need to refresh using alt F5 Think Richard meant .........Once you have done this you should DE-install your old Paypal payment module. Edit the paypal option and set enable module to false.
