How do control length of intro text?

Hi, can anyone tell me how to control the length of the text that shows up on the home page for the product description of each product, i couldnt find anything from searching. Thanks

If you go to cpanel, click on phpmyadmin. you will need to effect two files on the left column. I'm doing this from memory so it wont be accurate but you will see two files with the title "product" in it. So it will be something like:

product.php and

order_product.php

 

One at a time, click on one of them.

In your upper center window you will see about 6 things, I think they call them tables.

click on the one that says something like description.

there is an edit icon (button), it looks like a red pen, click on that icon, that's the editor.

You will see the field where it will have a number like 255 (255 characters). Change that to another number, 500 maybe? whatever number of characters you want to allow. Don't overkill it though.

 

Save and go to the next file, same procedures as the above.

 

Save and you are done.
