chipshot Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 I read somewhere (don't remember where) that it's not a good idea to use dreamweaver to edit files is that true, and why? Thank You
Guest Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 I have been using dreamweaver for years and built many PHP/MySQL databased run websites and even my own shopping carts its always been fine for me. I have also always used to to edit / update the osCommerce cart. Having said that I dont use any of dreamweavers functions and built in options as I hand code everything including the HTML & CSS etc so maybe some of the built in functions that make dreamweaver easy for people who dont know alot about programming to use cause problems I dont know as I hand coded from the start as I thought it would be the better way to learn. But if you do all your own coding then dreamweaver is fine, if you dont i aint sure
chipshot Posted December 13, 2007 Author Posted December 13, 2007 Thanks that makes life much easier. I also don't use any of the functions from dreamweaver to code anything in osc, mostly just as a text editor. I just thought dreamwever may have done something to my code that I don't know about before I uploaded to my site. Because I can't log into my Admin.

Yeah thats all I really use it for but it doesnt do anything to you code well Ive never had any issues and as I said ive been using it for a few years now
♥Vger Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 I would not however use it to upload files. Its FTP client has a reputation for being unstable, and often uploads incomplete files. Vger
