APIs already functional?

I've installed the USPS module and updated with the latest upper case fix. Ran the database SQL fixes. I have a user/pw from USPS. I edited the USPS panel in admin. I set my zip code. I've tried both test and production, and I still get an error when I try to check out through the sandbox:

An error occured with the USPS shipping calculations.

If you prefer to use USPS as your shipping method, please contact the store owner.

My primary question: are the APIs already set up in the USPS module programming? Do I need to do anything else with the APIs? I did not run the API tests, because I wasn't sure where the XML was supposed to go. I don't know what else I'm doing wrong. -- Apologies for the density, am learning as quickly as possible.

Thanks

I'm getting the same error...

ok... at least i know i'm not crazy.

hopefully we can both get some help with this and get on with finishing up the configuration of the cart

Nope, we're not crazy, and it's not always easy to find an answer.

I read elsewhere that it won't work in test mode. I went ahead and tried to run the API tests, and couldn't get that to work. Lacking any other ideas, I went ahead and moved to production mode, and now it's working! It seems the API info is already set within the module. (I found the same URL for the production server in both my USPS confirmation mail and the usps.php file, just to double check. Also, the USPS rep seemed to think it was already included.) Try that.

Now I'm getting a double weight in checkout. :-) One thing after another, but we'll get there.
