adding a download product

Hi,

 

I have searched and looked how to add a product so when the user pays etc they can download it ex an Ebook file or whatever.

 

Maybe its something stupid im missing but im going to carry on searching but if anybody can post just a quick tip I would be very gratefull, Im pretty good with PHP/MySQL so doesnt have to be in depth its probably just something stupid im not thinking off.

In Admin Panel/configuration/downloads - set Enable Downloads to true

When you add a product make sure you set product weight to 0

You will also need to set products attributes

Admin Panel/catalog/products attributes

add the product using the drop down boxes at the bottom of the page, look in the first drop down box for the product and select - you will need to specify the file path - note

The download product should be in the folder catalog/downloads, the file path you specify will only need to be the name of the file such as:

unreal.zip.
