rascal2trust Posted December 3, 2002 Posted December 3, 2002 I have had had problems installing this moded ver 2.2, I have gone through every thing i can think of, it looks like my database has somehow been linked to someone elses website, http://pengwinpc.net, if you go here and then click on create account, look at categories, and mouse over them.It links to another website. Any ideas Thanks Jim
Guest Posted December 3, 2002 Posted December 3, 2002 is there any particular reason you installed a modified versions as opposed to a 2.2 snapshop. i suggest you go back and start from the begining, installing a recent snapshot, this will give you a fresh database and cure your problem. it should only take a few minutes to do this... but maybe someone more experienced will provide a better solution for you.... Cheers Paul
Ajeh Posted December 3, 2002 Posted December 3, 2002 Check the two configure.php files. I have managed to do this myself before where I uploaded everything to a new site then used the wrong configure.php files and suddenly I am on a different site. Otherwise. see if you have a .htaccess file that has gotten into your root by mistake. I have had one of my hosting companies make this error and mess up my life for a day trying to figure out what the heck was going on. NOTE: some ftp programs you cannot see the .htaccess files and it is better to look with Cpanel or whatever they gave you to manage your files with.
rascal2trust Posted December 3, 2002 Author Posted December 3, 2002 I checked everthing as you suggested Linda, but no luck, Hosting company says database looks okay, so wherewould I look to find out where the mckay.com url is coming from, i have been thru every thing i can think of and can't find a link or anything from any of the mods that i have installed. Thanks Jim
Jan0815 Posted December 3, 2002 Posted December 3, 2002 OK, here is my eductated guess. Both shops have cache enabled an bith shops are using the same directory to store the cached pages (it defaults to /tmp). Solution: Either disable the caching system or change the caching directory to something other than /tmp. I am quite sure I am close ;-) You can't have everything. rascal2trust Posted December 3, 2002 Author Posted December 3, 2002 That was the problem, I have been looking for hours trying to find it. You have no idea how much I appreciate the help Jan. I will notify hosting company to avoid problems in the future. Again thanks, now I can go to work trying to find all of the other little bugs. Thanks Jim.
Jan0815 Posted December 4, 2002 Posted December 4, 2002 Again thanks, now I can go to work trying to find all of the other little bugs. Glad I could help. And just keep on asking.
