caballoazul Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 Hello. I'm completely frustrated because I don't have any idea of how to install separate pricing per customer. I just downloaded version 4.2.0 to computer. I have version v2.2ms2 oscommerce by my web hosting service, but I would like to know how do I install this separate pricing per customer. Please anyone point me into the right direction, I have been searching for some hours and I can't find how to do it.Thanks
jasonabc Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 Extract the zip. Go to the new_installations folder and open install.html for the installation instructions. Unless you have an unchanged, vanilla install of OSC you will need to install the contribution manually. SPPC is a huge install so it will take a while - but backup your files, take your time and read the instructions carefully and it shouldn't be a problem. satish Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 There will be some sql scripts so You need to modify the db. Also You will have to modify lot many files. So take backup.Try applying this to an offline site(not live) and once done replace live site files with these files. As Jason pointed out its pretty big contrib. metalbeach Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 You have one post here - and you want to install one of the biggest add-ons there is for osCommerce. My advice --> try something smaller first. Vger Hello, I, too, am very new to osCommerce and only consider myself 'intermediate' with PHP coding. However, my client is asking for this feature. Can you recommend 'something smaller'? Or - as a newbie, provide some tips on installing SPPC? Thanks. -John H.
Guest Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 In my personal experiences, if a client wants SPPC I ALWAYS install it first. Installing SPPC affects MANY other features of OSC and usually confines the customer to certain other contributions they may wish. Tying to install SPPC after other contributions have been installed, can take much much longer. Chris
burt Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 It is one of the more difficult installations as it touches lots of files. I had to install this on a very modified oscommerce (loads of contribs + TM template) and it took me over half a day.

You say it took you half a day - how about for someone who has never worked with this add-on (like me?). Please help with any recommendations. I took this site over from someone who partially installed a lot of things, did half the design, then abandoned the project.
burt Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 Well, what do you need to do exactly? SPPC is a good contribution - but there are alternatives to it, depending upon what functionality you require.
