germ Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 Somebody trying hacking my website or not?? Yes. Sites are generally hijacked for three reasons: 1. So they can steal information (generally financial) for monetary gain. 2. Use the site to send SPAM. 3. Alter your pages to set-up links to other sites that are on a "pay per click" basis. If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you. calcul99 Posted December 9, 2007 Author Posted December 9, 2007 Hi, Thank you for your answer. 3. Alter your pages to set-up links to other sites that are on a "pay per click" basis. You mean they can alter the pages of my website to set-up links to others sites that are doing advertisement like google adwords ect...??? So what can I do for this code don't work and they can't do nothing against my website?
germ Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 Just because they're "trying" to hack you're site doesn't mean it's going to happen. If you have "all you're ducks in a row" (i.e. using latest secure stable version of osC, permissions set right, etc.), they'll give up go somewhere else. If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you. THOUGHTOUT Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Just because they're "trying" to hack you're site doesn't mean it's going to happen. If you have "all you're ducks in a row" (i.e. using latest secure stable version of osC, permissions set right, etc.), they'll give up go somewhere else. Is there a list of these ducks anywhere? I have this same issue and concern, and would like to tire these potential hackers knowing I checked all that I can do. Is there a list of all the items to check to know we have done everything and have everything set in the best proper order?
