Can I upgrade to latest version of osCommerce? and How?

I am relatively new to osCommerce.

 

I have a web site that uses an oscommerce template, but after reading some of the posts here, I think I am having an older version. My questions:

 

1. Can I safely upgrade to the latest version?

2. which is the latest version?

3. How to do this upgrade?

The support that you can get depends on the origin of the template. If it is not downloaded from here, how do we know what has been changed by bogus boys?

 

If you have an older version of osc, you cannot upgrade to the latest version.

 

The latest version is called RC1.

 

There is a thread in the tips and tricks forum that you can use to to determine what version of osc you have.
