My shop / store is wiped out - please help

Hello,

I decided that it would be a good time to add a blog! So, I went onto my control panel with my host and set up a blog using their service - thinking I could integrate it with my site. NOPE - it wiped my site and replaced it with a blog only!

 

So, I deleted the blog (after being sick) - thinking this would be okay as all my oscommerce files are still intact on the back end.

 

Well - this hasn't worked either - my site is now blank. When you look at the page source its blank too.

 

I have a back up of everything luckily.

 

Put support call into my host and have followed it up several times. They can't fix it and have to put to the USA to fix at admin level.

My site has been down 4 days now, they can't give me an estimated time of fix.

 

Can anyone PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me? Currently my site has no credibility (can't put a redirect on or message).

 

However, if I have my www.url.com/Backup and host my files in there, the site works fine (apart from its located under Backup).

 

Does anyone know why this is happeneing and what can be done to fix? My hosts have no clue.

My initial instinct was that the index.php file had been overwriiten and/or the database was written over.

 

I assume you can access the files via ftp.

Since it looks like it is working where you said, you could follow the instructions in the store in root contribution.

What do you think?

do these steps:

1)Chek thru FTP if files exiast where they should.

if thet do then thats great.

else call your hosting company to provide You with the latest backup.

2)Do same with data base.

3)Once thse two are in place then the site should start running(unless some htaccess oe server env forces it not to work).

4)If it does not then upload a simple hello.php and chek whether it is getting executed or not.if it does then chek permissions of Your file.

 

Do these steps and comment where You have reached to guide You further.

Whats the root contribution please? Is there a link?

Hi There, thanks but I have already done this on my website and it won't replace missing file from SQL db.

I have just tried to restore from my admin the latest back up but it hasn't worked.

Am now paying someone to investigate. Thanks again.

Pity, I think you are very close to getting it back because it is working in the other directory. Oh, I think the db is ok because I can see products in the other directory.

That's why I suggested that contribution, it should put things back the way it was.

My chap fixed it - he's a star!

It was corrupt database and the blog had overwritten some files. Now restored to last backup.
