dreamcreative Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 I'm working on my first installation of oscommerce and am starting to see how things go together. What I would like to know is, if I'm only using english as my language can i safely remove the other language folders and php files from the installation(both admin and main catalog)? are there any other pages i would need to modify if I do this?
germ Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 You can delete languages in your Admin: Admin --> Localization --> Languages Although, I'm not sure of the ramifications of doing that. If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you. dreamcreative Posted December 8, 2007 Author Posted December 8, 2007 You can delete languages in your Admin: Admin --> Localization --> Languages Although, I'm not sure of the ramifications of doing that. Thanks for the response germ. I have already deleted all languages except english from the admin section but I would also like to know if I can then safely remove the actual files associated with the other languages; deleting the languages from the admin console doesn't physically remove these files. My intention is to use this initial installation as a base for future sites that will only be used in english so I would like to be be able to remove the unnecessary language files permanently if possible. :)
