New site - comments pls

Hi all,

 

I have just put up a new shop based off the October Loaded snapshot my theme applied. I have left the default products in and site is just for testing at the moment.

 

Please have a look and let me know what you think. All comments welcome good & bad and suggestions a plus. If I haven't missed too much and all is ok, this site should go live in the new year maybe end December.

 

Thanks to all of you who have contributed to this excellent project which has enabled me to get this out.

I like it although I am not too sure about the little stars circulating around the menu items... Makes it a bit 'clouded' in my opinion.

Nice layout - but as mattice mentioned - remove the stars....and remove german as language from the admin menu - otherwise:

 

Parse error: parse error in /homepages/18/d70773370/htdocs/catalog/includes/languages/german.php on line 305

Very clean layout..the stars I could take or leave.

 

I do have a question--on your product listing pages I notice you have the image on top with the name, price, and buy now underneath. How did you modify your product_listing.php page to make it appear that way? (I've been trying to figure this out for almost 2 days now!) Please let me know!!! TIA!

If you go into your admin console in Configuration -> Product Listing. Set Display Buy Now Column to 1

Much better... not so 'noisy' and therefore easier to navigate.

(And to think how many little stars you must have drawn... poor guy :) )

On several areas of your pages you can see the corners showing on what use to be the headings of boxes, etc.

 

Gift Voucher will show this more obviously on the product_info.php

 

A fast fix is to change them to invisible corners if you are not using them anywhere.

 

I think I made a contribution of invisible corners if you need them. If not, I have a set on my site.

Ah, I see what you mean - I will get on to this asap. I planned to add custom graphics for some of these. In the meantime I will use invisible corners.
