Display full size image on product detail page

I am putting together a photo-sales site and want to be able to display the full size image on the product page, rather than a thumbnail which then needs clicking. Is there any way to do this without handcrafting each page?

Surely there must be somebody out there who knows how to do this? I have worked out which file the code needs to go into and where in the file, but I can't work out the code that will display the product image.

 

Any help would be most appreciated.
