Changing site & logo

Hi

 

I am changing a few things about my site & the design side is proving a nightmare. :o

I do not have any specialist software such as photoshop & stuck for any different ideas. My colours have slightly changed to 99A8FF & FFFFFF & 00359D (header text etc) The site is also fixed width 960 instead of 758 too. I think I need a co-ordinating yellow etc in the logo but that is where I stop.

 

Does anyone have any suggestions for a cleaner looking header/logo & how I could achieve it. Special companies charge soo much & I am unsure about using them. Suggestions? I'm UK based but that may not matter.

 

Any help on this would be very much appreciated please.
