z4games Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 Hey all- I recently launched my site, after like 2-3 months of pushing it off =X. Here it is: www.z4games.com Does anyone know how to make my site look more legit, and how to get a good customer base? Any other feedback is appreciated.
ELnew Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 honestly having distorted pictures is your first problem, having a dark background then you products a white background looks VERY unprofessional. Make images bigger so they actually stand out. Plus try to incorporate better catergories instead of just Text. Good Luck. ~Parker
joannemojo Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 Sorry but I hate your colour scheme. The dark backround on the entire page doesn't work. Your products don't stand out, the white background looks unprofessioanl and your images are distorted. I think you need to make the main page (where products are) a lighter colour so it stands out and draws your eye into what you are selling.
sdrio Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 Interesting to hear both these reactions. I have been developing a site for a very well known brand, and need to have a black background. The images I was supplied with are against a white background, and it doesn't work well. . . . What is the normal solution to that?
z4games Posted December 9, 2007 Author Posted December 9, 2007 Hm, thanks for the input guys. So should I be thinking of a white background instead?
joannemojo Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 Well you could either of the following: 1) Edit the pix in photoshop etc to remove the white background or put borders around images to contain the white and make it look like a framed picture (doesn't usually look very good) 2) Ask for pictures with a black background 3) Have a black background for the majority of the page but a white background for where the products are. Interesting to hear both these reactions. I have been developing a site for a very well known brand, and need to have a black background.
