Hey all

 

i just oploadet the shop files.

 

in the install process, i am asked for the SQL info.

these are plugget in. but the connection wheel, keeps on spinning.

no mather if i just put garbage DB server adress in, ore the right one.

it spins infinity. alle are sat to 755. and i have not changed any php files.

 

how come, i wont connect to my sql server. ore atleast show me an error, if i writhe the address wong

make sure your server qualifies for the minimum requirements of oscomerce:

osCommerce can be installed on any server where a web server with PHP has been installed on and has access to a MySQL database server.

you need php 4.0 and up

 

start fresh.

download the oscommerce script from here again: http://www.oscommerce.com/solutions/downloads

 

extract and upload the catalog folder to your host

 

create your database and databse user

 

start the installation.

i just did that. and got the hosting guy to totaly reset my account. http and sql.

just finished oploading the files and creating the DB.

but, it´s still no go :(

hi,

 

i also have the same problem as you. the wheel just keep on spinning using IE. i tried Netscape and i managed to go through until Step 4. but when i go to admin, i encounter error.

 

been doing this set-up for more than 10 hrs and quite frustrated already...

 

anybody encountered the same scenario and managed to solved? dare to share? thanks a lot.
