Sita Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 I usually ship large items divided in different packages via UPS. If I go to UPS.com, I'm allowed to input the dimensions and weight and number of packages to get a more accurate shipping fee, but when I use the OsCommerce and edit the product description, I only get to input the total weight... But here is the problem: For a large item, I get to ship it in three different packages, with a total weight of 165 LBS (55 Lbs each). If I put 165 LBS, when checking out my clients are greated with the following legend: "An error occured with the UPS shipping calculations. The maximum per package weight for the selected service from the selected country is 150 pounds. If you prefer to use UPS as your shipping method, please contact the store owner"... How can I add: 3 packages, 55 lbs each to the description? I frequently use a website where, on checkout shipping, shows something similar to: 3 (x) 55 LBS (and dimensions... but I'll be happy with only having the weight calculated appropriately!). Please help! Quote

You don't understand the setting "maximum weight you will ship" in the admin. This is the per box weight, not total weight of the shipping. So the 3 x 55 lbs is something that osC already does. B. If you would have looked around for UPS in the addon section you surely would have come across UPS XML. There is not much more you can ask for handling the packaging (dimensional support, ready-to-ship, split a product in several packages). Quote
