"able to write to the configuration file", and 644 / 444 do not fix

Hi.

 

I get that "Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file" message. I've CHMOD'd it to 644, as well as 444, and neither work. The included pdf documentation at one point suggests changing 'both' configure.php files (presumably the second one is the one found in admin/includes), so I've tried that as well.

 

None of these work. Any suggestions?

Sorry, I posted a few minutes too soon. Turns out my host apparently resets CHMODs made to files from my FTP program to whatever they originally were, so I had to use the cpanel instead. Maybe this is normal, I don't know anything about this stuff, but whatever the case it seems to be working now.
