Change date format

I've searched this forum already for the answer to my question but I can't find it.

 

How do I change the date format so that it shows as dd/mm/yyyy (UK) instead of the default mm/dd/yyyy (US)?

 

Any advice greatly appreciated. I'm going square-eyed trying to hunt for this answer. I'm sure my query must have been asked before.

to find out how to do it, but do not just copy the files to your webspace (old version files).
