Buttons instead of text....

This has to be already answered somewhere....but I need help on doing it.

 

 

OK the first part "1" I would like these categories to be buttons...AT LEAST just for the index page. How would I go about doing this instead of having ugly text? haha

 

"2" Where do I edit this "What's New" area? I want this to be removed or hiden, any suggestions? Thanks so much for help.

part 1: to edit the text "what's new here?"

 

edit catalog/includes/languages/english.php

search for

BOX_HEADING_WHATS_NEW

change the text value in front of it

 

part 2: to change the image

 

replace catalog/images/table_background_default.gif with an image you like make sure u rename the new image to the current one exactly the way it is. for an optimized result your new image should be 57 X 40 pixels
