email problem or create account problem

Hello, I am new to this site. I read alot about how to fix the problems sending email using smtp. There was a post that directed us to a download and changed some of the email.php coding. I used this and got my admin to be able to send emails and the user recieve them. Now when I try to create an account, after I put the information in and click continue it takes me to a blank screen. Nothing happens, no email is sent.

 

If anyone knows how to fix this I would greatly appreciate it. I can include the coding if needed. Please Help
