Setting 'Out of Stock' for item with Product Attributes (like clothing - IE XL Shirt)

Hello everyone,

 

I know I can control the Product Attributes per item in the Admin panel, but I cannot seem to set it when an item has Product Attributes, like Shirts, or Jackets since they are an 'item' but that item has sub-set attributes and only some of those sub-set items are out of stock no the entire set.

 

IE I am not out of all shirts, just, M, L, XL.

 

Under the Product Attributes settings, there is no stock setting and I cannot see anywhere to relate them in the stock window. Is there an additional MOD for this or is this just how it is?
