Local delivery contribution - UK first 3 postcode letters only?

Hi,

 

I installed v1.6 earlier, and its a great idea to offer local delivery to a set range of postcodes, but with this module it means in the UK you have to type in the whole postcode like TS134RW and the rest of the postcodes for every street in the area you want to offer the service to that area and thats just time consuming, and you have to spend money to get the full postcode data from royal mail (can you believe that!!???)

 

The UK postcodes are a pain with this module and work like this: (TS13) = AREA or COUNTY and the second half (4RW) means STREET.

 

I think that to someone who is a coder, then this would probably be an easy mod as the mod itself is just 2 files!

 

So would pretty please anyone knowledgeable and kind enough to modify the module to only use the first 3 characters for us UK guys? or point us in the right direction! :thumbsup:

 

I'm a novice to PHP myself!

 

I'm sure this would help a lot of people out! I for one would very much appreciate anyones efforts!
